What is your sentence?

Two questions could change your life.

If your life could be summarized in a sentence, what would it say? Are you afraid to answer the question? Do you know the answer to that question? Do we not live for the pursuit of its answer?

He gave his life to save another man…

An activist for the disabled…

She led the civil rights movement…

A profound writer that stirred the hearts of many…

Break through researcher that cured…

What is your life sentence? Is that something we can forge, control, or manipulate? I’m sure if Obama ever said to himself when he was 21 or 22 I’m going to become the President of the United States of America, but he pointed in a direction he was passionate about and followed it. You can’t become a president without that type of a compass. People who go on to do great things don’t get there by chance. Our passions and success is something determined in hearts and not by chance.

Did Hank Aaron happen to make the The Sporting News “100 Greatest Baseball Players” list (5th on the list) by chance? No. Did Martin Luther King Jr. become a leader of equality and equal rights by chance? No. Did Beethoven happen to stumble upon notes that would shape our understanding composing music to this day?  It was by purpose and perseverance.

Today I don’t just ask you the question, but I too ask myself what is your sentence? Honestly, I don’t think its quite finished. I’m not sure where to put the comma and I’m not quite ready for the period. I do hope that others will see my life as one that gives out to others. To live for self ambitiously seems to be a trend of the many, but they are soon forgotten. I can’t name the richest man that ever lived who’s ambition was to live for himself. Can you?

Everyone remembers the one who lived and/or died to save, empower, and improve the lives of others.

Jesus said “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”

In what way are you laying down your life that others may succeed?
